Hey guys I was just browsing Craigslist and I came across this Strat-shaped Epiphone. I didn't even know Epi ever made these... is it even real? If it is, do you know where I could find some good info on it? Especially about the pickups. (I tried Goog already, didn't find much.)

Here's the link: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/msg/833900614.html

Here's the pic'age. Yep it's lefty, and I'm a lefty. Epi Strat + left handed = super rare?

it could be real
but to me it looks like a strat that someone slapped an X-Plorer neck onto

They made them in the 90's. They're not really that great - about the equivalent of a Squier Affinity Strat. If you're an Epiphone collector or you don't really intend to play it, then by all means go for it, as I don't think you can buy them new anymore, and I think they stopped making them in 2003.

They're just cheap, plywood beginner guitars. There's no point to getting one really, even for modding.

The best idea would just not to get it.
