Hello UG!

was wondering, is there any way to mod my peavey 212 to get better dist/tone etc? Looked on their website, found lots and lots of stuff but no clue what they do or if I can use them so... better to ask you guys

Btw, is a head amp with a cab better than a combo, in the same purpose?

its really kinda split between a head and combo. For a head, you have to just replace tubes, then buy new speakers for the cab or just buy another cab.

With a combo you just have to replace tubes and buy 2 new speakers. It all depends on how YOU want to look at it.

If you dont have a lower budget, i would suggest buying new tubes and new speakers, and maybe throwing in an EQ + an attenuator. All these together will make it excellent IMO

That is pretty much the only ways you can get better all around tone out of the VK

Is this a a Valveking? First order of business imo...

Digitech Bad Monkey Overdrive: $50
Danelectro EQ (or similar): $40 - $80
Warehouseguitarspeakers.com: $65 each for Vet30
Tubes: i wouldn't stress on this yet

I don't understand your head/cab question
