I'm pretty sure the 333 and 333XL are the Peavey XXX and JSX (x being the 3rd to last letter of the alphabet)

B-52 builds a nice sounding amp, similar to a recto. If you want the real deal, look for a Mesa Single recto or Rectoverb or Tremoverb all can be bought for under $1100

333XL - "Looks like" a JSX - Sounds like a Mesa with Marshall attack. Put in some 6L6 power tubes...it will be even closer yet.

This amp gets you there...very PHAT and HEAVY punch!

I don't think there are any Mesa clones.

1) They're complicated circuits
2) What's the point of cloning an amp that you can walk into the music store and buy?
3) With all that goes into building a Mesa clone, its very likely that it would end up being as expensive, if not more so than the Mesa itself.

mesas at first were just clones of fenders, with some extra gain stages. so if you want a good mesa mark clone, just go get an SF bassman and add a couple more gain stages. should get you a decent early mesa sound.

Since when? Bugeras are more or less Peavey clones.

B-52s are in no way a replacement for a Mesa and despite what people say, can not get you the Mesa tone.

If you want the Mesa tone for cheap, buy an F or DC series.

I've had tube amps for a while now, but never actually had any go down on me

maybe you're not saying the right things? an amp likes to know you care.

keep in mind that the other mesa models are very complicated circuits.
