i wanted opinions on a choice between the Jackson js30ke and the dean dave mustaine sig which is $300. im also open to suggestions. my price range is $300 since im not one of those manwomen that think they deserve a really expensive guitar when they just started because they can 92.0865% on guitar hero. i play rock and metal but would like something a little versatile. im also not considering ibanez too much because my current guitar is an ibanez grx20z and im realizing ibanez' are not too great on tone, altho i could be wrong. thanks

what amp are you using currently, and if you're just starting out maybe you should keep the ibanez and save up a bit more so you can get a really good guitar when you get even better.

High end Ibanez are beautiful on tone. As for in your price range, My first guitar was a cheap epi les paul. You could also get an LTD. I would go for an LTD or Epiphone, but those are just my preferences. As to the choice between the jackson and the dean, once again my preference goes to the dean.

ibanez's have good tone but its their Edge 3 that sucks. but they have great guitars:

and other options are:

i've played all of thesde guitars and al are fine for their price, altough they need better pickups and etc, but they will do well for you.

EDIT: Sh*t, i forgot the magic question: what's your amp?

and between jackson and dean, i would go for the jackson, because it plays great and has decent pickups, and the dean is actually worth like $150, and the other $150 are bacause its a "dean dave mustaine signature. you will feel kinda raped after buying it.

im using a vox metal amplug and also have a 30 watt behringer. Also, any opinions about the kelly spefically? cause i really like how it looks, tho i wouldnt buy it just for that

Out of those 2 the Jackson would absolutely pwn the Dean IMO. I'd recommend trying out a higher end Ibanez before judging their tone by your one, I have a similar one and love it but the higher end models are undoubtebly much nicer on tone.
Gear:
Schecter C-1 Hellraiser
Ibanez GRG170DX
Peavey Vypyr 75
Fender Princeton 650 DSP w/ Celestion 80w speaker

get the jackson kelly it plays better than the dean and jacksons are better quality than dean too and the kelly is the coolest shaper ever
#8
would you say that the kelly is good enough for an intermediate player who is not planning on upgrading again for a while? would you say that about either of the guitar?

I'd say get a new amp.
For starting out, get a Roland Cube or something.
Stay away from Line 6 Spider amps and Marshall MG's, unless it's strictly bedroom playing you're doing.

Tone is mostly in the amp and your fingers, and judging by your price range, I don't think you will find anything with good "tone". =\
