Why do most good musicians always die prematurely/

The names that spring to mind for me are Layne Staley, Cliff Burton, Kurt Cobain, SRV, Hendrix, Richard Wright and Dimebag.

Im sure you people know of lots of other musicians to.

Why not post your tributes to all of your favorite musicians here.

The main death that saddens me the most is Layne Staley. They can replace him but never will he be forgotten.

I love that OP put down Cliff Burton, but not Hendrix, Mercury, or SRV...

I hate to break this to you, but playing music doesn't actually make you immortal.

bob marley, jimi, srv, jeff buckley, freddie mercury.

you'll notice also that, regardless of whether they are musical or not, humans do generally all die in the end.

Loads, but SRV and Layne Staley in particular since I only realised that both were dead just after discovering them for myself
Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I've ever known.

Jason Becker. He may as well be dead. Everytime I think of that incredible talent, it makes me sad. He would have been without doubt, the best shredder that ever existed. I bet my testicles and first born on it.
