I recently decided that I want to stop anchoring my right hand when I play. But now I'm noticing a lot of harmonics from different strings ringing out when I take my finger off those strings. Especially during the first sweeping part of "Scarified" by Racer X (Space Ship Live version). The bottom note of that arpeggio is on the 12th fret and when I take my finger off, the note keeps ringing clearly and it is very awkward for me to mute that string in the middle of the sweep. Is there another way of muting the strings?
I thought getting rid of unwanted string noise with your right hand was a good thing. Why would you want to stop?
resting your hand / thumb on the strings is not anchoring
I see. I read the "****ing Sticky" and got confused. But I re-read it and now its all good!
