I tried to copy the riff into the message box but it kept getting distorted so it's in the attachment.

So what progression is that riff following and what is the name of the 1st chord?

I'd call the first chord a G7, it could be something else though. then the halfstep thing, could be there for dissonance cause I don't think you can get a chord out of that.
so G7, dissonance, Db5, Ab, A, C# (C#major third interval then C#5), open E string, little hammer-on pull of thatd fit into A lydian, C5, G#7.

thats pretty interesting.. starting G7 and ending G#7. im gonna have to start listening to Opeth!

The last chord is something i added by mistake.

That part ends with the last chord (the GC diad) of the 4th bar.
