i'm looking for a semi-hollowbody that is good quality while inexpensive. Max cost should be no more than $450.

also, what is everyone's experience with semi-hollows?

I love them. They lack the sustain of solid body guitars, but make up for it with their warm tone and feedback at lower volumes.

I've never used one (except some gretsch unplugged) but i'd say look into the ibanez artcore series or some epiphones. Maybe you could find a used gretsch for that price.

thanks everybody for your input

and yes, i have been told gretsch are the best in the business

personally i'd go with epiphone or gretsch, ibanez i've heard is good but i don't trust them that much with hollowbodies because the rest of their guitars are for metal.

I own an Ibanez Artcore. Great guitar.

Most gretsch models are full hollow.

Their semihollows are mostly chambered.

But Epi and Ibby in that range are the best buy for a semi.
