It's extremely obvious that he's not actually playing, not to mention the fact that I don't think the last part is possible on a telecaster, unless you can bend that last note up like 4 steps.

It's possible if you play it as a pinched harmonic, however, a fair bit of the tune just before the final run up is not playable on a Telecaster (well, not mine at least).
