it works fine if i dont do anything. but as soon as i touch any buttons or adjust the volume or anything the songs will skip until i stop. its almost as if my ipod needs a ram upgrade or something. please dont tell me you hate ipods, because i know many of you do, i dont really care wat you think. please tell me if you know how to fix it.

Update software for it.

Or take its skipping rope off it, will stop it skipping.

Restore it, or wait until the new update comes out.

most common cause is the song itself, not the ipod. however, if it is doing it on all of your songs and not just a possibly corrupted one, then i would first of all, make sure that all of your ipod stuff is on your itunes, then perhaps reset ur ipod to factory defaults, and re-sync everything all over again. yes it is painstaking, but it might wortk....or it might not.

it might also be a short or something related with your headphones or the jack.

i didnt think ipods had ram, thats gotta be a tiny god damn card. idk why it would need it though unless its a hard drive based one. which depending on the size it could be. i know that the smaller ones 4gb ones and smaller are flash. idk about 8s, i think they are.

Heres an even better idea ... forget asking the UG forums ... why not go to the apple website forums and ask?

I went there and just browsed thru a couple of pages and found my answer... GO.
