I'm trying to solder off the solder that hold the pickup covers down on my Epi LP. But it won't heat off. The Soldering iron is brand new. Any Ideas?

I've never been caught (beating off), but my dad was picking up my gf once and "accidentaly" grabbed her boobs.

This technique is called tining and requires alot of heat. might I suggest a VERY small torch to heat of the solder and it should pop right off. Dont leave it on to long because any plastic including the insulation on the wires can melt.

I thought the covers were normally glued on?

They're soldered on. IIRC, this is for grounding purposes.
