So I have this friend who knows quite a bit about electronics/soldering/wiring and stuff, and he did a few pedals, but anyway, he wants to build a tube amp.
He wants to build a simple one, too, and so I ask your opinion - what's the easiest tube amp to build?

You can't get anything more basic than a champ clone.
Not taking any online orders.

just a little 5 watt amp. if he can read schematics and stuff, http://www.ceriatone.com has some schematics for fender champs and 18 watt marshalls ans sh*t like that.

A VJ isn't too complicated, but check out the Beavis Audio Research Noisy Cricket. It's a 1-watter, really simple-looking.

I actually don't think it sounds bad for its simplicity. But also check out a Firefly.
