Well, there's some distortion. Very smooth distortion, and reverb or delay, can't tell which. Hope that helps.

I don't think there's delay but the distortion is very smooth. Any other ideas?

An amp with a delay pedal plugged into it - there's craploads of delay and reverb in that tone.
Actually called Mark!

How can you not notice the delay!!??? There is enough there to kill an elephant!

Holy delay abuse batman.

Edit:

Also, if you did your own research yourself you would see that he only lists that he uses a GFXZOOM-3.

It sounds almost Maiden-esque. So I guess some sort of Marshall or another british amp like a Laney, Traynor, etc. along with a single coil guitar (Strat) would do it.

Delay, maybe a tiny bit of chorus or phaser in there, VERY little to none drive.
What I want in my rig (Bold = gear I have):
Ibanez SZ-520QM
Vintage VECJ100BK
Epiphone Dot
Laney VC15
Boss GE7
Boss SD1

The smoothness of the tone is all in the fingers.
You can dial in as smooth a tone you like, but it won't sound smooth if you aren't playing smooth.

Sorry for double post, but very little drive?
It sounds quite gainy to me, just not over-gained. Just at that point of saturation, which is quite a bit of gain >.>

But I'm tipsy and very tired so that could be contributing to it.

Shred really isn't my thing, but that was rather impressive and actually sounded nice. Well done to that dude.

But if there is one thing I hate in fast solos is delay... And he had buckets of it.

Chorus is worse
mark tremonti anyone?

yeah, smart choice, sweep your ****ing guts out with a chorus pedal on with the mix knob turned up full.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW5e3O11s9w - There's another clip to get a better idea on the tone. So what would you guys say Yngwie's tone consists of?

Once again, Strat and Marshall.
