What is the best HSS strat copy you've ever seen? I can't afford fender... Links would be helpful

^But Pearlcasters compare to Gibsons and PRS in price (and quality, but...). Squier has some good ones, like a Vintage Modified one, which is what you should buy IMO.

yamaha pacifica?

I'll have to put the Classic T models on my to-try list. Shame the finish options there are Anachronism Gold, Nuclear Waste and Aged Clown, because in principle the plaintop is right up my alley.

Presumably because the CCF (Combined Corksniffing Forces) of MLP and Gibson forums would rise up against them, plunging the land into war.

scuse me but if you took your head out of your ass you would notice that he said he couldn't afford a fender, which means it's highly unlikely that he could afford an ed roman either, considering the fact that they're much more expensive than most fenders.

Either a yamaha Pacifica or an Ibanez SA series guitar. The Pacifica if you like lower output, the Ibanez if you like hotter pickups. Both have nice trems and are built well. The Ibanez's have a body made of mahogany, so they aren't as trebly as the Pacificas, which have an alder body. Try both out and see what you like better. Squiers are also a good option, though their trems are not as good.

yamaha pacifica?

Sorry for bumping a thread from 5 days ago, but i forgot about it.

I thought about that guitar, but aren't there loads of different types of yamaha pacificas? which one did you have in mind?

Yamaha Pacificas are great HSS Strat copies. The higher end ones (£300-500, still way cheaper than Fender) are arguably better than Fender Strats.

If I could get one that's half as good as a Fender strat, i'd be happy. I mean i don't want an amazing guitar because it's only for a band that I'm in and I don't want to spend loads. What are the £200-£300 ones like?

no worries at all about the bump.

depends on your budget, really.

i've only tried the 112 (and the newer 112v version) and the 812v. The 112v is at a beginner guitar budget, but it's a pretty nice guitar- i've tried ones i'd prefer to MIM standard fenders.

the 812 is just a really, really nice guitar, with a really good spec (in terms of hardware and pickups), at a reasonable price. if i were after an HSS strat around the £500 mark, it'd be very high up my list, if not at the top.

i think the 012 is more of a beginner instrument than the 112, it doesn't have the alder body etc.

i'd assume (but i haven't tried them) that the 412 and 612 fall between the 112 and 812 in terms of quality.

I hope that helped. at the end of the day, you need to try them to make sure you like the neck etc. etc.

which fender strats are you talking about? the MIM standard ones? there's an even larger range of fender strats than there are of pacificas!

Here's my Custom Kimaxe. It's got an Original Floyd Rose and all sorts of goodies. Plus it's just an all around shred machine. I did some research on the company and they made 5 of these, with mine being the first one. There's a yellow one, a purple one, and a green one, and another red one with black hardware. Personally I think mine's is the sexiest of the 5. This one sold new for $3299.00, but I picked it out of a flea market for $200 bucks. Hell, the Floyd is worth that by itself

Thanks for the advice. I'm wanting to spend about £200-£300 so I'm assuming I wouldn't get an amazing yamaha pacifica, but I wouldn't get a rubbish one either?

^ that's what i'd have thought. sometimes you want to get a smoking deal not so you can make a profit, but so you can get something really nice which you actually want for less money.

probably not. with any luck you might manage a 612 for that amount of money. i mean even the 112s are remarkably decent for the money. unless something really strange is happening, the 612 should be nicer. definitely try one to make sure though, as i haven't. EDIT: it's £339 on gak...
