Hi I've been playing some Modal Jazz tunes (Birdland, All Blues) and I need someone to explain me clearly how to improvise.

I know that the normal thing is to focus on Modes and maybe some pentatonic scales, but please Im really confused because sometimes some Modes seem to sound awesome but other times they sound awful.

Bless.

Well Modal Jazz is Jazz using musical modes, and the awesome in it is that there aren't rules, but I need someone to explain me how to apply my musical knowledge into chord progressions.

That's what modal jazz is? Well that's pretty simple.
