Alright. Some crow might be for dinner....

I gave in and picked up a Jackson, to see what all the hoopla was about.

The Dinky I looked at was good, but this one caught my eye, and since I don't have any other "angular" shaped guitars, this seemed like a good idea.

First impressions are quite good.

I'll know more on sunday when I have more time to play.

Here's a quick pic of it.

Ok....say you told me so.....

You should've gotten Eerie Dess Swirl, IMO.

But either way, it is a beast. The SD's are nice, and the neck is fast and thin.

You'll love it, and the V-shape is easy to get used to.

RR3's are awesome guitars for the money they play great and are good quality imo I kinda wish i'd just saved up the extra to get my RR24 instead of part exchanging my RR3 for it but oh well

After reading the FR sticky, I can see why I had trouble last night.

I'll try again this evening when I get home from work.

I wish the RR3 didn't have the trem. I'd rather not pay 1200+ for an RR1T or RR24

What kind of stands do you guys use?

I have an RR3 and I use one of these:

http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Hercules-Stands-Single-Guitar-Stand-with-Folding-Yoke?sku=453081

It's the only stand I could ever find that would work, other than wall hangers, of course.

Nice choice on guitar, by the way.

It's still in tune this morning, after a late night of dive bombing, and generally thrashing the hell out of it. Nothing has changed my favorable first impressions. Nice guitar for the money.

ive never played a jackson, do they make ones without the trem? I think that those are a pain in the ass.

Its not about the Radio its about talent, the front man has a bigger vocal range than Micheal Jackson and he can sing from heavey metal to high pitched ...No.12 on the top 20 under rated guitarists of ALL TIME...etc

I believe they do, but once you figure it out, the FR type trems aren't really that hard to set up. Take it from me, a guy who had never messed with one up until two days ago. At first it seems very confusing. But once you absorb the mechanics of what is actually involved, it becomes no big deal. The key seems to be blocking it level while you tune it. Once everything is dialed in and locked down, it's all good.

Yes, its called the RR5 and its neck through but has a price tag of a bit over 1200 last time i checked. The RR3 only comes in an FR modeal but you can get a dinky with a hard tail.

Jackson made an RR3 without a trem for a time. Idk if it was a limited run, but you could def find one. Check MF then maybe Ebay.

I am seriously considering buying this guitar in the exact colour you have. It's either this guitar or the DK2 or an ESP MH-400. Any opinions on how this guitar stacks up to these others?

I like it better than the Dinky I compared it to. But I'd suggest playing both. Guitars either "talk" to you or they don't sometimes.

Agreed. I love the blue swirl they have too. Don't see too many of those.

right now
im close to having enough money to get either a jackson kvx10 or a rr3
i like both guitars alot
but i want to get the best one

does anyone hav anything that will help me with my decision

RR3 is better for the following reasons:
- Better pickups
- more tone options due to 2 vol knobs and a tone knob
- Jack input is in upper wing, which is more comfortable when you sit down.

I will reaffirm my opinion on the RR3.

I own quite a few guitars. Fenders, Gibsons mostly.

I haven't played anything but my RR3 for 3 weeks.

BTW....it does a pretty good clean, too.
