I need some nice tones for my amp

__________________________________________________________________

I have a few tones for it already but the tones all sound near enough the same or some are just crap.
Could anyone share some tones or suggest what gear i should get to improve the sound?
And if i've put it in the wrong thread place again i'll scream

U really need to post what the guy above said...your actual AMP...
I got a Marshall 100watt n to get decent rock/metal tones u cud go with...

Gain - 8/10
Bass - 7/10
Middle - 3/10
Treble - 7/10

jus put the volume on FULL and
then turn the amp's volume up as opposed to teh channel.
It works well for me, sounds good, tight and heavy, but thats more likely
my Schecter White Synyster Custom :P
Anyway, it depends on what you want

Ok heres a good tone for a marshall MG

Gain - 0
Bass - 0
Mid - 0
Treble - 0
Volume - 0

Seriously though.

Bass - 6-7
Mid - 5
Treble - wherever you want it.
Mess with the bass and gain knobs. See what you can get.

With the MG you really shouldn't have the mid knob turned to low or the treble knob turned to high.

If you dont want a knew amp get a pedal called the Metal Muff. It will give you heaps better distortion.

Ok if you want a nice lead tone put the reverb on. Not to much or it sounds like crap.

you had to mention it didn't you

The MG wont get you a massively amazing tone, so don't set your sights too high. But with some tweaking you can get a sound that doesn't make you want to gorge your eyeballs out with a ice-cream scoop.

i plugged my wah wah pedal into my amp and the tone is alot alot better XD

The thing is... unless you're doing something really stupid, none of the advice here is going to be particularly helpful. Amps sound different in different rooms, with different guitars, and different players. Also, what one poster may consider to sound good could sound awful to your ears. Just tweak it to your liking.

That's a lot of booze. Frankly, I'm impressed. You're of a stronger timber than the average man, jimbob! Hail you.
