I just was wondering is it really hard to make your own neck? Because at my house there is a lot of wood lying around and I thought it would be cool to make my own guitar out of that.
Obviously Fassa.

yes and no. if you appraoch it knowing nothing then yes. if you look around and learn all you can and fully understand the proces then you'll be fine. also dont make this thing out of cheap plywood, use something like maple. read up on woods used for guitars and go from there. have fun and good luck

As long as its solid hardwood at aprox 6-8% moisture content you cant really go wrong, although obviously some woods are more suited than others.

Yeah, although it is probably easier for us to just say "Oh yeah, thats poplar, you can't make a neck out of it, or, oh yeah thats maple you can make a neck out of it" than for him to figure out the moisture content...
