I am looking for a cheap way to record. While looking at my local craigslist I came across a Behringer Ultra-G GI100 DI box, could I run guitar->pedals->amp->DI through the line-out->my computer for a direct recording. Would this work as a budget way to record?

What's the amp? The GI's meant for amp heads. Since you have a line-out on the amp, you can plug that directly to your computer with the right cables (1/4-1/8 most likely) provided it's not a speaker output (that'll require a different DI box).

I think it is a speaker out, thats why I was considering that DI, it has a speaker cab simulation built in.
