That's not a scale.

So...

It IS a scale... though not exactly a pentatonic one.

There's inconsistant chromaticism, so it's not a scale. If you were consistant with your chromatics, then it could be some kind of synthetic scale, though at the present moment, it is not a scale.

It is a pattern you can use for exercises, however.

No one's answered your question so I'll get straight to it. Here's a pentatonic sweep for ya. Requires rolling with the pointer. Sorry about the cliche choice of scale but hopefully you can adapt it to your own wicked ends.

I really don't know how to tab properly, even if I do wrap it in code, so if someone could PM me on it, that'll be useful. Thanx! Anyway, TS, I hope that's given you a basic idea to work with....

Btw, the scale you tabbed could be seen as Em Blues Pentatonic except is has a M7 in it! Kinda wrong.

If you want to economy pick/sweep a pent scale -- that is in the sense of purely economy/sweeping it linearly up and down the scale -- it is VERY do-able.

I've covered it here: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=583812
(I think most of the mp3 examples I put in there are now gone, sorry).

It can sound quite sweet. However, it's one of the more difficult left hand fretting
techniques not to mention your economy/sweeping skills have to be good as
well. It will likely take you a long time to develop it, but it's good practice anyway.

That's just an Am 4-string sweep.

So what? I wasted like 5 minutes watching DaddyTwoFoot's avatar.

It lies in the A minor pentatonic scale, I think that's what he's going for.

TS: If you learn the construction of the pentatonic scales, you'll be able to create arpeggios from those scales all over the neck.

I misread his post and thought he said that what he posted was the E blues scale. Bit of confusion on my part.

I think you were trying for a blues scale with a flat 5, but you threw in a D# on the 13th fret of the D string. I think that's what BGC meant. If you took out the D#, it'd be a standard pentatonic blues scale.

Here's another one. If you know your Pentatonic shapes you'll realise that this lies in D Minor Pentatonic shape #4. Tbh tho, you wouldn't really see it as "shape 4" but more like "sweep an F maj arp dude"
