Ernie Ball Regular/Power slinky sets, depending on the guitar.
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

DR Titewound 11-52 on Tele and LP, 10-52 on Strat, 9's on my 89 Claptop. (been 8's for 20 years, not ready to get it set up for 10's properly yet, the neck is perfectly flat, and was last set up by those who later became the Custom Shop).

They've been reliable so far but when the next string breaks (it feels like it won't be for a LONG TIME. These ****ers are strong as hell) I'll look into some DR's.

Dadarrios rock, I've got elevens on my git now and they're wonderful. Never played ernie ball, but I never saw the need. Ds sound good and seem to take a while to degrade and sound bad. I can usually get almost of month out of them with playing about 1-2 hours daily. There has been the odd set that only made it a couple weeks, but some of that can probably be blamed on tuning down to remove the pickguard and tuning back up.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not
#34
Maybe I just had a bad set of slinkys. Lasted me about a week. The ones before? almost a year.
I just need some that won't break on me
#35
I've only ever broken Ds when I was a. trying to or b. tuning up and down a to remove pickguard (so all the way slack then back to standard).

When I used 9s I think I broke the high e once.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not
#36
Hmm, I'll look into .11's
I was my high e string that broke.
though i'm worried that it may take me a while to get used to fatter strings. I think I'm gonna try the slinkys again and if they crap out on me early, I'll look into D's
#37
Going fro 9s to 10s was somewhat tough, but going from 10s to 11s felt like nothing. Its just made my fingers a bit sore lately, but I'm totally used to them.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

D'Addario XLs. Tried DR wound and unwound and some dean markleys but none of them stood up to the XLs.
Sig What?
#39
^Agreed, I tried the drs and though they sounded weak/dull compared to the Ds, promptly switched back and cursed the guy at GC for suggesting them.
