I don't really think that Children of Bodom has particularly great guitar tone or whatever, but I do think the metallic ringing sound that you can hear on some of the open string chugging is pretty cool. Anyone know how to get that?

I could be wrong but that sounds like reverb to me. If I turn the reverb all the way up with the gain maxed out i get a similar tone on my amp. pretty sure what your hearing is spring reverb.
