You don't deserve an ESP Custom.
But hey, it's your money.

get a baritone guitar /thread?

This.

No offense or anything, but you seeme pretty cluesless for someone who wants to spend at least $3500 on a guitar. Is there a reason you can't just get a nice production model?

Construction- its really up to you, they each have advantages. not big ones though.
Material- Either Mahogany or Alder. Alot of the Higher end ESP (not LTD) use alder. whichever.
Binding-Lines around the body, just looks.
Routing- Are you getting a trem?
Fretboard- Youll probably prefer Ebony or rosewood because of its darker tone. i like ebony.
F binding-same as binding.
H binding- you get it
Nut- locking for a trem, If its hardtail go with bone.
Neck Contour- thin u for faster stuff, just whatever feels better to you.
Tuners-deluxe gotoh.

for the body and neck type and that stuff, its about what you like. try the things out. find guitars with those things on it and see what you like best.

If you can't decide then you should NOT be getting one.
but in that case:

BODY-
constructon.(bolt on, set neck, neck thru, set thru) neck thru
material(really dont know what to get, im totally clueless) mahogany or alder
binding(wtf is binding) your choice *look at the esp eclipse and its the stuff on the outside*
routing(again, wtf does that meen) 2 humbuckers
NECK-
fretbord(maple, rosewood, ebony) ebony
fretbord binding(?) your choice
hedstock binding(?) your choice
nut(locking, bone, graphite) graphite
neck contour(not sure if it should be u, or thin u) your choice
PARTS
Tuners(deluxe gotoh, sperzel locking, vintage kluson) deluxe gotoh

Seriously spend you money on something else bro.

You get a custom because you want certain aspects that are not available on production models, not because you want a high end guitar.

Get a high end ESP, Jackson, or Schecter, you will get the same results for less money.

Routing : Front means you need a pickguard (like strats) cause every electronics (pickups controls and knobs) will be installed in the front. So get back routing .

Wood: go there it explains the tone that woods gives to your guitar
http://www.espguitars.co.jp/oversea/customorder/index.html

Bindings is pretty simple: Its a color contour on the body/fingerboard/headstock.

For what ur playing id say get this:
Neck-thru
25.5 scale
alder or mahogany body,
Maple neck,
ebony or rosewood fingerboard. I prefer ebony
Get some sperzel or gotoh tuners.
OFR if you want a FR or get String-thru if you dont want one.
Bone nuts if you get an hardtail, Locking if you get a FR
Get thin U neck.
The rest is up to you (inlays, controls pickups etc)

Wait wait wait.

You're prepared to drop AT LEAST four grand on a guitar and you have NO preference on ANY of these???

There is no way you have the money. your 16. and you dont need one if you wouldnt know the difference between this and a much cheaper guitar!

If you don't know what YOU want, then don't be a dumbass and spend your cash. That's just stupid. It takes a while to find exactly what you want, and if it's a custom built to your specs, then I'd suggest knowing the specs you want before putting in an order.
#14
DONT get an ESP Custom! they are WAY OVERPRICED! Go on there website and design something and get a quote and it will be around $6000. Even if you designed a piece of crap. For that price you could get TWO Blackmachine B2's (also customs).

That's the price quote, not the quote you'd get from a dealer. Actually, they're not that bad from what I've seen. A few dudes on the forum just got some done and didn't spend to much for em'. There not nearly as expensive as the Jackson and Dean custom shop.
#16
Dean is really expensive, I have heard that Jackson takes FOREVER to build, that is rumoured to be the reason how they lost Laiho.

What has been reccomended to me, and I am really interested in is Carvin. Custom specs at under $2K? I love it.

LMAO @ TS.

If I was ESP I would just use parts from a no name brand guitar and send it to you because you don't know the difference.
