I have a Line 6 spider III 75w solid-state amp and I've played a show with it, but people tell me that it gives too much feedback and what not (when I have it on loud volumes it screeches when I'm not doing anything). I'm not playing arenas or anything, but I play in places that have around 500-1000 people capacities. What would be the best amp to trade in for? Price doesn't matter either.

Thanks UG
If your life was a song, would you sing my name?

Price doesn't matter? I doubt that.

Give us a general budget, and tell us what styles of music you are playing.
I don't give a shit if you listen to me or not

Genres?
Does price really not matter? I can recommend you a Diezel VH4 for 4 grand. That'd probably be pretty good.

PS: You're in Newport News? Where is it exactly you're playing with 500-1000 person capacities?

Dumble Steel String Slinger paired with a Bogner Uberschall since you don't have a price range.

..Just how much distortion are you using if your amp feedbacks like that?

I hated my Line 6, but it never had feedback problems.
Main gear (For complete list, see profile):
Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plain-top
Basswood Telecaster, 2 single-sized HB's, both split.
Epiphone Valve Junior
B-52 AT-412 Cabinet
Oh, and I have a Squier VM Jazz Bass too.

I think his head would explode if he went from a Spider to a Dumble. There has to be a 6 month transition period to avoid physical shock.

I don't understand why if someone says they don't have a budget everyone assumes that means start suggesting Mesa/Engl+ amps... Be practical for christs sake, he's playing a Line 6 Spider isn't that a guess for what kind of gear he needs?

Exactly. We can't help him until we know what his actual budget is. Duh.

Neither does the TS not giving us anything to work with. With no budget I think that all the suggestions so far are pretty good. Sure he probably doesn't want to spend that much, but how are we supposed to know?

I know. I took a few days to reevaluate how I interact with a lot of you folks, you're much more pleasant when approached tactfully lol.

I'm not perfect, so I seriously shouldn't act like it.

I love shopping without a budget!!
I want a Herbert, a VH4, a 101b, a Chimera, a Marshall 1959RR, a 5150 III, can I keep going???
#21
since your not naming a budget, peavey 5150, A vox, or a Marshall(if its not the MG)

and ts, I live 2 hours away from newport news, but where are you playing for 500-1000 people for there? Only place I know near there that usually would have that many people would be a college or the norva in norfolk.
