i've been restoring an old rick 4003 copy from the 70's and it seems i've run into a problem. the truss rods need to be replaced as they're totally messed up but i have no idea where to get new ones. does the scale matter or can i get any old bass truss rods to put in. if it does matter, this one's 34"

I don't think you can buy truss rods, they don't just slide out of the neck. (At least my friends destroyed up squire doesn't)
