Never used it for electric but I have used it for acoustics. For acoustic guitars it's a very middle of the road tonewood, not too bright, not too dark but things in the acoustic world don't always translate over to electrics.
Not taking any online orders.

Sounds like it would be good for a top, at least.

My brother was asking me if I'd be interested in some of that stuff, as well as other weird trees. I couldn't find any info online about how it would sound or how it would withstand the stresses of a steel string guitar.
All my photobucket pics are dead so no links to my guitar build threads.

its actually very hard and stiff... sort of like the apple trees around here. very hard, very stiff lumber, but also very twisted and checked. ever heard of virginia ebony? its some type of orchard tree that is as hard as ebony, but you cant find enough for a neck since the trees are so crooked and twisted.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
