Again, this is possibly dumb of me, but I basically lack knowledge of amps in general. Besides the obvious quality of the cabinet, but let's say, for the sake of argument, I have an Orange head and run it through a different brand of cabinet. Will that wreck the integrity of the Orange?

Well, yeah, but I mean, I didn't want to commit some sort of cardinal sin by using an Orange head with a non-Orange cabinet.

the only rule is whatever sounds good.... sounds good. doesn't matter if you mix and match. Although there are a lot of people that would never nix and match.

As long as the ohms are correct it will work. Just doesnt mean all cabinets are created equal.

the type of cabinet and its construction will also affect the sound.
Mesa cabinets sound so good because of a both the speakers in them, and the monsterous oversized cabinet construction

Meh, all oversized cabs sound huge, regardless of brand, (Vader, Krank, Mesa, Marshall MF) But sounding huge does not mean better. My Mesa Trad. size is very thick sounding, only tighter, which I prefer.
