I have a
Gibson Les Paul Studio.
and an Ibanez RG2EX1.

I'm getting a new amp.
I can't go used.
Must be new.

I play mostly in my bedroom but I can get pretty loud.
No ones ever home.
I have no near neighbors.

I play Blues, Classic Rock, and Metal.

Metal would be the main genre.

Heres what I'm pretty sold on getting.
Crate V Series V33-212 33W 2x12 Tube Guitar Combo Amp

Then running this pedal for sure through it.
Seymour Duncan SFX-04 Twin Tube Mayhem Distortion Guitar Effects Pedal

This would give me nice cleans.
and that pedal has a great sound to it.

Now if I wanted a real nice classic rock sound should I get this pedal?
Seymour Duncan SFX-03 Twin Tube Classic Preamp Pedal

Or would it not be necessary?

I wouldn't recommend the Crate V Series, there are alot of bad reviews around for it, and i haven't seen a good one yet. I thought thee sounded pretty mediocre and wouldn't last too long. They're not as good as the Palomino's used to be.

I haven't heard too much about the Twin Tube, but try everything before you buy.

well according to these prices, looks like you are willing to spend up to $800 USD. what kind of metal are we talking about here, and what classic rock? hell, i have seen Iron Maiden referred to as "classic rock" lol. and they are metal. but so is necrophagist. that should help us narrow things down.

I have a 700-800 dollar budget.
I can't buy used.

Sounds I'm mostly aiming for are similar to bands like

Avenged Sevenfold
All That Remains
Bullet For My Valentine
The Fall of Troy

Thats the most important thing to me.

I think that anything higher than 30 watts would be way to loud.

There for I would run a really nice pedal through a lower wattage amp that has nice cleans.
why cant you go used?

i bet you can, you just dont want to, which means you could be missing out on some good bargains.
Actually I tried getting a used 5150, dad wouldn't let me.

I'm 16. I have to follow his rules.
Well if you are playing mostly metal, you only really need preamp gain, which can be used at any volumes. It will sound better when it is louder, but they sound good at low volumes. Maybe you should get the Randall or B-52 just for the little bit of quietness they bring.

Then tell your dad he's an idiot. What exactly is his reasoning?
