I am looking to replace my DSL100 with a good high gain amplifier. I play blues. I want a high gain amp that can reallllyyy push mids, has spring reverb, effects loop, and good, sensitive, useable gain. I love Joe Bonamassa's tone, but I can't afford a Jubilee. I love the Marshall sound but the newer Marshalls are, in my opinion, trash. I'll look into any amp maker. Just give me your thoughts, please. Thanks!

try a fender blues junior or a fender hot rod deville, great cleans and gritty blues overdrive. spring reverb, tube, and plenty of power for band practice/gigs
Gear:
2000 Paul Reed Smith CE-24
ESP EC-1000 w/ Seymour Duncans
Ceriatone 18 Watt TMB Plexi 1x12
Peavey 5150 2x12 Combo

High gain? Fender? Hahaha.

Look into Hughes & Kettner stuff. Edition Blue, stuff like that.

Oh, whats your budget? Will you go used? If so, where do you live?

Yeah, but he said he wanted High gain. That's important. That's not fender. You'd be better off giving him a Ceriatone recommendation, seeing as you own one. That's probably in his wheelhouse.

I haven't tried one so don't know about how high gain it could get but if Marshall voicing is your thing, try Traynor?

true that, i do recomend ceriatone. if you like the old school plexi but dont want 100 watts of it, get the 18 watt version. it breaks up nicely and at a reasonable giging/drumset volume

it takes pedals great too. handwired

Along with his Jubilee, Bonamass also uses a Two-Rock, a Dumble clone and a Super Lead Plexi clone.

I don't think anyone can come close to his tone...

I say get a JTM or JMP clone. That'll get you as close as you're going to get.

Actually, my Legacy does the really sweet blues sound that you're talking about. That's the blues sound that I'm into too.

He also uses (or used, I don't know) Budda Amps. They are pretty high gain.
A Superdrive 18 Combo is about 1400 $ brand new, but I'm sure you can find it cheaper used (btw, who would sell a Budda?? )
Fender MIA Stratocaster (with SD Twang Banger)
Epiphone Les Paul Special II
Johnson Acoustic
Palmer FAB5

^Yes he did use the Budda Superdrive 80, I believe. 2 of them, in fact.

thanks everyone!!! i guess i should have told you all I already have a JTM45 reissue. Lol. It has a beautiful Marshall sound but I'd like something with, you know, Jubilee qualities. So you are talking about Traynor and Legacy and Budda. What model of each?

^Tophat, Budda, Blackstar, Dr. Z, Badcat, Roccaforte.

Don't know exatly, Superdrive 30, Artisan 30, Maz, Hotcat, Custom 30/40.

I figure Orange isn't really high gain but do you think that will suit his needs?

I believe he uses a Superdrive 45. I know he demoed it and that he played one on his tour with B. B. King. But either way, it is one sexy mofo.
