This is my band's newest song and I wanted to see what you dudes thought about it. I wrote half and out other guitarist wrote the other half so I think it turned out to be much better then our previous works because it was a group effort. Also, yes we can play it.

C4C of course.

Edit: Shit, forgot the file.

That was ****ing insane.

I have no idea how people can write in time signatures like that, much less such technically challenging parts. Only thing that could have used, in my opinion was some sort of melodic or slower breakdown to break up the pummeling riffage.

Great job overall though.

This is a lot better then your last song and I like how you have re approached songwriting, you definitely are doing better, I would have liked to see the intro riff repeated a few times near the end or something though, I thought it was good. A lot of the parts in this song are too fast and all for GP as well, I can't give you a real crit because you're too fast for GP, and if you can play 64th sweeps at 150 BPM, kudos to you. Once you get a recording up, tell me. Try to make it downloadable too, I have dial up so I can't stream it.

Thanks dude, the challeging part about time sigs is trying to fit it into the song and not just throwing it in just to be technical and for the **** of it. I critted your classical song also.

Yeah we actually play those slower in real life I dunno why he put it that fast it's pretty much humanly impossible...

some of the time sigs were too odd to work. like i very much doubt you could pull that off live in time as theyre just too jarring. some great riffs in there tho

No it really isn't very difficult live, actually some of the 4/4 riffs are harder to play then the others. When we wrote this we didn't expect the time signatures to be so ****ing weird. I suppose it flows more live as well.

that just noise with random time sig's!
"We carry death out of the village!"

No it's pretty much exactly the same sounding. The only part that really sounds different is the drums, my drummer plays stuff alot different then what is on the there. The parts with weird time signatures are not really hard to play at all, you just have to memorize how they sound. From a playing standpoint the hardest part in the song is in 4/4. Thanks for all the crits dudes!

Marskell: Do you provide any form of useful information for these forums, because all I get from you is annoying incoherent responses.

This was a great song, TS. I'm not usually one for this kind of tech metal, but it's so well done I can't help it. It seemed a tad too short though, so work on that .

That was pretty cool I guess, I've never really listened to stuff like this before, so it was an interesting change. The song was pretty cool, except that when you did those 32nd notes C5s, they were too quick and sounded like farts. Maybe if you palm muted them it would sound a bit more defined and less fart-like?

.. Tee hee.. you said fart.

Anyways, beautifully made.. I do agree that the open string gallops were a bit fast.

If you can play this almost flawlessly... then wow.
We can only guffaw at all the humbug we are told about martyrs.

its not THAT hard i was just saying it would be hard to pull off the off time stuff accurately live. but then again after second listen i could play along with gp easy enough but to get a whole band to play it perfect live youd need one hell of a drummer. like a human metronome

This is right, but like I said the drum parts are pretty different in real life, although it sounds generally the same. Also, like I said earlier the sweeps are played slower, probably at 16ths or 16th triplets. Our other guitarist wrote that part in powertab.
