i have an ibanez gsa60, which is a decent guitar, but my tremolo system also doubles as a detuner. im thinking of buying a floyd rose to put into it. i would go into a shop to do this, but i live in port hedland, AUS, and the nearest store is a days drive away. anyway, i was wondering: can i do this myself? im no expert, but im fairly familiar about how these things work. should i trust myself for this conversion? or just leave it until i can get this to a shop

You'd have to route for the floyd (front and rear cavities), and install a locking nut with a shim, which would get in the way of your truss rod access.

The work really isn't worth the time, especially on a budget guitar.
