i used to have all the guitar tuners facing the same direction along the head.

lol. assuming that that was what made it in tune.

Taught Steve Vai to play, god that was a mistake. I shoulda taught him banjo like he wanted to, I wouldn't be in the dark for all these years then.

Got a floating bridge as my first electric guitar and screwed in the whammy bar so tight it broke. Had no idea how to tune that thing either.

Haha, I thought that too.

I also took all of the strings off of a Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, then something fell off and I freaked out.

yeah I guess that was just it. But it really bucks me off that 90% of our schools pupils don't have a clue what is Deep Purple most common response is this: "Is it some sort colour or something like that...?"

When i got my first electric I cranked the clean channel up, and thought that it was distorted. Even though it was just really loud.

Nothing. I did research prior to plopping down my cash. Looked up maintenance and care. Checked sound clips and YouTube to determine what kind of tones I liked best. And I made sure to buy everything I needed all at once.

or tremolo picking a couple notes.

Now, when you say started playing guitar, do you mean actually playing, or do you mean.. walking around and pretending I was in Alice in Chains while having my dad's guitar around my neck?

If that counts, I think I just answered your question.

I thought I could move an open chord up and down the neck while still playing open strings...
...and I thought that E tuning was tuning all strings to E... lol

Sorry, no.

This thread is doing some serious blows to day. I can't meet any guys in here, and I find out there are people who didn't act like morons when they started playing.

Admit it, you at least checked yourself out in the mirror while pretending to be a rockstar. Admit it.

(If it didn't happen, lie.)
