I have an epiphone sg g-400, that I have fully modded besides the nut, so when i get my next setup im gonna get a new nut. I've been researching them and the most popular seem to be Graphite and Bone ones, but i have no idea which one is better. So please help.

bone is usually preferable to graphite because it gives better sustain

I have guitars with Graphite and some with Bone. I prefer Graphite on my tremolo equiped guitars and Bone for the ones with a fixed bridge. Either are great and have lots of positives, but the MAIN thing with any nut is that it is cut, polished and installed correctly.

both are huge improvement over a cheap plastic nut.
