the lead guitarists amp in my band broke the other day, he needed a new amp anyway to be honest but it leaves him with no amp at all until he can manage to get a new one..
so the music we play is mainly just alternative rock with little bits of other genres here and there so we dont need incredible amounts of gain.
we should be able to mic up if needs be, the problem being that not much more than 200 GBP would be the budget.
any recommendations would be much appreciated. thanks

Since you said you could mic it up why not one of those small tube combos/mini stacks like the Epiphone Valve Junior or the Balckheart Little Giant. Just toss your favorite pedal in front for gain and you'll be set. If you want more wattage maybe try one of those Crate V series amps but I've never tried it myself.
