Reverse version of "Who are the worst guitarists that are considered guitar gods?"

I'd say Rainer Nygård, Aydan and Terji Skibenæs...

Both guitarists are from the Geelong region and are a big influence on me.
Anyway have a look at them.

Claudio Sanchez.

Everyone knows him but he's not really considered an amazing guitarist. I think he is though. Watch some clips of "Final Cut" live, the improv section is awesome. He's good at phrasing and has nice control compared to a lot of modern rock bands. Travis Stever ain't half bad either.

Good idea for a thread, I hate all the "Worst Guitarists Thread" it's just a 5 page attack on Slash and Herman Li.

I would say Richie Sambora because although Bon Jovi are very famous Richie isn't very well known among Pit guitarists and it's a shame. Also Izzy Stradlin of GnR deserves more recignition (sp?).

JT Bruce.

Go to the music tab on the left, and from there you'll find two albums for free (legal) download. I think you can download each song individually, but it's best to listen to the albums in their entirety.

It's sort of like instrumental Dream Theater meets Buckethead meets film soundtracks.

brad paisley is pretty well known but i think people write him off as another country singer before they hear his solos, that guy can rip! plain and simple.

i think Dave Murray is underrated

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zWFeL66kj8&feature=related

this guys amazing, ive met him too, awesome dude, he sounds a lot better on his actual album because he has a real drummer and you can hear what hes playing a lot better.

let us not forget michael romeo from symphony X

i think hes lost a bit of weight since this vid

Les Paul - most people know him as the inventor of the Electric Solid Body Guitar (The Les Paul) but about 90% haven't heard a single Les Paul tune.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYlG7qb3iCs

Les Paul (along with Chet Atkins) is my guitar idol. Actually, saying that, not many people have actually heard Chet Atkins play but know who he is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Owa10YBJfNU - Here's one of my videos of Les Paul & Mary Ford's Tiger Rag.

Epic Shred!

Those who have never heard Les Paul play, buy one of his albums now! You can learn so much from him.

Why thank you I need to get in touch with the roots of guitar playing. I love blues from the '40s and '50s, but I've never heard any Les, which I am ashamed of.

Watch and Learn - Les Paul & Chet Atkins duet playing a Jazz standard called, Avalon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfjD680wQJI

If you've listened to the majority catalogue of both players, you'll find that Chet Atkins is the better player.

/opinion

Chet Atkins is credited with the first country artist to crossover to the pop charts. Without him, country would never have been traditional country pop. Chet Atkins was also a followed of Merle Travis and his finger picking style but Chet expanded it to a depth never before seen.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcMB-vtyCBI - This is vintage Chet Atkins
