So would these be fair trades:

1) Fender highway one HSS strat for a Epi les paul custom (both less then a year old)

2)Fender highway one HSS strat for a VINTAGE 1974 IBANEZ LES PAUL

3)Fender highwayone HSS strat for a Ibanez S520EX&Boss Distortion DS-1

I have never heard about the ibanez les paul so please enlighten me.

I'm looking for a trade cause I need a more metal guitar, any opinions will help.(all guitars are used)

I wouldn't do any of those trades. If you really want to sound more metal, change the humbucker in the strat for something like a Bare Knuckle Warpig or a duncan distortion/invader

Do this.

P-Bass - Mustang Bass

1- I wouldn't do this trade

2- This trade is impossible as the closest thing Ibanez made to a LP in 74 was a Custom Agent - which is a major POS - yes I owned one. Maybe you can trade for a 1947 Stratocaster as well.

3- If you do this go to NA and get help for your crack addiction.

you are aware that those guitars tend to be IMITATIONS of YOUR guitar?

Get stacked Seymour Duncan humbuckers for the neck and middle, and then stick a full sized humbucker in the bridge. Make sure that they won't over power each other when in parallel.

The Ibanez S520EX is one of the best guitars ive ever held that was not very high priced.
I have always dreamed to own one.
So my opinion might be a little bias but id say that ones a good trade.

is the ibanez comparable to the fender, or is there a better Ibanez I could look for in a similar price range.

Do you really hate the Fender? Do you shred? The only reason to change guitars is if you wanted a larger radius so you can make huge bends and shred. In that case I'd get an Ibanez with a Wizard neck. If you like the Fender neck you can get high gain pickups for way less then $700. Seriously, stick with the Fender IMO.

The Ibanez LPs are copies of Gibsons (of course), which they were then promptly sued out of making. Ibanez also created Explorer, Flying V, and Moderne copies as well as Strats and (I think) Teles.
