I got 11-50, and what is on my guitar now is a lighter gauge string, I really just wanna know if having the nut slotted matters, I didn't bother on my 1st guitar (I don't really care about it) but the guitar I have right now I love and wanna treat it right.

I'm not sure what kind of a nut you have on that 100-series, but my EC-1000 has an Earvana Compensated Nut, meaning that the slots are a lot wider than the strings.

But anyway 11-50 isn't too big, you should be just fine.
