are you freakin kidding me. do you know that those two guitars are waaay different.
1) price range is way off. schecter is 850 bucks and dxmg is like 450
2) the freakin pickups are different. schecter has active emgs, while the jackson has shitty hz's
3) body woods are different
4) schecter has super fat necks and jackson has super thin necks (what do you want?)

please, if you're gonna compare schecter and jackson, i recommend you try them ou before you even think about a comparison. if you like both. do the DK2 or the DKMG instead. even those are cheaper than the freakin schecter

The Jackson has Active EMG's now, they got upgraded in like 2006.

It has Hzs from my memory, the DKMG was upgraded to 81/85 because it was upgraded just after I bought mine.

You would be correct. I thought they upgraded the whole MG range, my mistake.

Everyone ignore my last post then, it's totally wrong

The overall quality of the schecter to THAT jackson is massive, the schecter is miles better but completly different in its own right. The neck on the jackson will be alot thinner, but its overall features are alot worse.

I just sold that exact Jackson a few days ago, it's a great guitar, but the C-1 has better pickups, better neck and better resale value.

I love Jackson's, and play one, but specs wise the Schecter seems to stand out. Assuming you've tried them both, I'd go for that.

I tried out a ton of different guitars before I bought my Hellraiser (it's an 07 model too not coil split like the new ones) and I couldn't fine one in that price range that was better. The way the neck is set is perfect, its technically a set neck but it's set like a neck through which makes the higher frets very easy to access. When I bought mine the retail was around 1200 bucks, but I got it for 750 which was a steal at the time. Now they've improved it and it's cheaper, it don't see a better option unless you look at the LTD 1000 series which are another option to look at.

I used to own a DXMG.

The HZs are horribly muddy sounding and are the worst "name brand" pickups I've ever used, aside from EMG Selects. The neck just didn't seem to feel well in my hands after owning it for a while.

The Hellraiser is better in every aspect imo and completely destroys the DXMG.

I love my Schecters man. Best guitar for the price. Unless you can spend the big bucks I wouldn't get a Jackson. I simply don't care for the Jackson cheapy line(s).

The Schecter is better than the DXMG IMO they're not in the same category. The DKMG is closer to that schecter.
