hi guys, I want to buy another guitar to play METAL, and I am looking for something like this:

24 frets
No floyd rose (already have 3 FR guitars)
around 1000 EUR (1500 USD atm)

Explorer looks if possible ^^

any suggestion? :S

Look at the ESP or LTD EX series. If your not after a pointy one, a Gibson or Epiphone with a pickup swap?
#5
ex 400 is the best imo it only has 22 frets though......maybe an RR5? that has 24 frets iirc

Pickup a westfield they are cheap and even with a pickup change is still cheaper than a epiphone.

havent found any jackson without a floyd rose!!!

same with Dean!!!, except the Angel of Deth, which has everything I want, too bad I already have a flying V ^^

22 frets absolutely no way, i want 24!!!
#18
why do you need 24 frets? explorers with 24 frets are kinda useless because if your going to need the upper fret access to be easy, i see no point in an explorer

Jackson Kelly's are the only 24 fret Explorer-ish guitars I know of. They do make them without a trem. Check out this link.

Tbh, I don't know of any 24 fret explorers.

You should import this guitar though. Edwards E-EX-125E. Probably the coolest stock explorer money can buy at the moment.

I agree, High end LT's play awsome and from what I hear Edwards are even better. Plus it's the coolest explorer shape you can buy

The only bad thing will be looking for a place to try one out

You're pretty much limited to a Kelly if you want 24 frets. Why not just forget the 24 frets and go for a Gibby?
#28
yeah im really close to forgettin about the 24 frets thingy ...

but i will really hate it when I try to play some solo and Ill be lacking frets!!!!

White Label Whiskey FTW!

most of u guys are n00bs, coz im pretty sure that epiphone make a futura gx which is an explorer with 24 frets and no trem. the body is weird tho to compensate for the scale and extra frets so u might not like (personally think its ugly as f%#k) but hay i know some ppl who like it. it has a sweet finish and an amazing neck too.

Go get a Kramer Designer Series Imperial.

It's a 24 fret stopbar OR FR, blue or black Explorer shape, and it's the Gibson shape, and it has those amazing Kramer Quad Rails.

Check out some Jackson Stars explorers.
Or why not go for a Gibson Explorer? I played one and liked it.

I know it was cheap but it was the only 24 fret Explorer-ish guitar without a trem that I could find. If you want a high quality Explorer you're gonna have to take a 22 fret without a trem or a 24 fret with a trem or have a Custom Shop guitar made.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.
