So I always go to camp for thanksgiving weekend every year with most of my family and this year im bringing my acoustic.

But I dont know what kindof songs I should learn to play for around the campfire that would entertain people without me singing since i cant sing

Its my dad, his gf, my grandparents, aunts & uncles and younger cousins if that helps.

Suggestions guys?

Any Jack Johnson songs. And since its your family you can get away with singing poorly they won't care.

Not necessarily, some may feel bad for you and tell you that you did a good job.

Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes), Jack Johnson (definitely), Cat Stevens, Cat Stevens, Cat Stevens.

Why no singing?

Go on! Give it a go.

I'd recommend Sufjan Stevens. But that's only if you sing.

Staying alive - Beegees. Just drop that guitar and sing that. They can sing along. Then you can wear tight white pants and pop out of broken windows.

just learn any sodding acoustic song.

e.g.

Wonderwall - Oasis
It's the End of the World - R.E.M
Man on the Moon - R.E.M
Pinball Wizard - The Who
pretty much all of Jack Johnson
Newton Faulkner

EDIT: dude, if you cant sing, then just learn some classical shit, or get someone else to

Well the more work your vocal muscles, the better you get.

Although John Wayne Gacy Jr would be a hard song to start with.

Ocean by John Butler. You can play it for hours because it's so improv based. If that fails, Tommy Emmanuel is always great.

Hmm, the only thing I could think of is "Patterns in the Ivy" by Opeth if you don't sing.

La Bamba.
If you don't know the lyrics, make them up on the spot.
Its fairly easy to do with that song.

Leave your fathers GF alone.

*Real answer* Just strum random chords and have a sad look in your eyes.
It actually gives people the illusion that you can play.

If you want to take a risk and be fancy use scales.

Scales won't sound too great unless you have another guitarist to back you up.
I've tried.

Usually when i play around a campfire il do mostly fingerpicking songs instead of strumming

Though one time this year i played a bunch of popular songs that were super simple but got everyone there my age (Which was all girls, i was the only guy ) singing along
