Good way to set goals and look back over progress.

Anyone else use it?

I have been for three weeks now, has helped to kick me in the ass when I havent practiced enough. Seems kind of retarded at first but you get used to it. I use a stopwatch to make sure that if I write down that I did an excercise for 5 minutes, I did it for a full five minutes. My hands were on the guitar (or going to or from the stopwatch) for the full five minutes. And I turn off my TV/Music while I'm practicing.

Practice has gone from occasionally running through some excercises to a solid 45 minutes of practicing (PRACTICING NOT PLAYING - THERE IS A DIFFERENCE) a day (although I am on holidays, most days it would be half an hour).

Thoughts?

I don't really care for fast guitar playing. Anything with the word 'shred' in the title immediately puts me off.

Facepalm...

This is actually pretty cool, I might actually use it, I need some motivation like this.

Has no connection whatsoever to shredding in particular.

Im considering using the same sheets to motivate me to do EVERYTHING in my life.

Well, homework and excercise and other non fun stuff.

That's cool, I'll bookmark it and use it for my practices.

The title alone is all that puts you off even after knowing it has nothing to do with shredding perse?

The five letter word S H R E D repulses you that much?

Hmm. Sounds pretty neat. I could get into that.

I snapped my high E once and sliced my finger open, so I can only assume snapping the low E would put me into a coma or something.

Hmmmm

I guess it helps for the lazy people.

But if you really wanna learn a song or a musical exercize, then you will learn it anyways. Unless you aren't motivated enough; the
"I want it all, but i don't wanna work for it" mind set --> which refers to lazy in modern terms:P

If u have a busy life, i think it will come in handy though.

Keeping track of practice makes me a coward? Interesting.

I use it for practicing excercises to a metronome, not learning songs. Dont know if it would have much of an effect if you used it for all guitaring.

I have a problem with drunken posting. I say things I don't mean on the Internet in my underwear at 4 in the morning thinking I'm making a funny...so I guess you can take solace knowing you're not me.

Yeah, I could never go down that road and expect to avoid being homeless. Hopefully I can figure out a way to keep my drunk ass away from the computer the nights I drink.
