I recently found a 1990 yahama pacifica at a yard sale and with a price of $20 I couldnt turn it down. The bridge is kinda rusty and bridge and middle pickup are humming badly. I was looking at an easy fix by just buying a pre-wired pickguard off of stew-mac and and this http://store.guitarfetish.com/blhabrfortea.html bridge from guitar fetish. This bridge would fit it right? I know these are the best of parts but I'm just looking to fiddle around on this guitar since I'm a bassist and I dont want to spend too much money on it. It has a natural finish but it's really dinged up so I'll probably either sand it down and stain it or paint it. Does this sound like a good idea?

I know that it's routed for a trem but I honestly dont think I would really use it so I'm going to save some money with the top mount bridge. Also with that extra space I could put in an on-board effect, or space for a battery for some led's or something
