hey. the other day i was in a guitar shop in town and i found a Burny les paul. It was trans black. It looked pretty real with the open-book headstock, but on the back of the headstock it just had a sticker saying made in china. I know Burnys were definatly made in Japan and these were the bees knees but is this 'made in china' Burny les paul real? and if it is is it better than a chinese epiphone?

nothing made in China is real.

Avoid China. Sometimes the brand name will be legit because a big corporation wants to get stupid people to buy a brand name and sometimes they're just a total fake.

If you have to buy Asian, at least go to Korea or Japan.

Yep!

Burnys are still MIJ but they're now also MIC and at one time, were also MIK. The MIJ ones are obviously better and you won't mistake a MIK or MIC version for a MIJ. I remember seeing a MIC version that has a slightly thinner body width.
