I really didn't know a better place to ask (besides the place i bought em... guess i shoulda asked first...)

So I go to my local music shop and ask for strings that are good for Drop C tuning, and the clerk person gave me some Ernie Ball Beefy Slinkies.

I installed them perfectly without a problem, but I have one question....

Are these strings recommended for Drop D tuning? I tuned them up to DADGBE and all seemed fine. No problems at all. I was just wondering if that was safe for my guitar with all the tension and stuff. It's been bothering me. Don't want a screwed up guitar.

HELP PLEASE.

umm... i'm good with these strings, i put a set on my strat. (horrible mistake, lot of tension, had to get another set of them cause 2 strings broke cause of the tension, and i had to get 2 more trem springs) what kind of guitar you have? and since the little icon on the upper right hand corner says ideal for drop tuning, it normally means for any tuning less than standard. standard = for beefy slinky's

I tuned up to standard with those on it just gives you a lot of tension shouldn't mess up your guitar though

^ apparantly not the case

Yeah I'm not that the beefy slinkies aren't working ^

I'm just afraid they're not meant to be tuned up to Drop D... the "ehh" seems very comforting...
