I remember a thread about people's favorite parts of songs, so I figured I would do the opposite. What are your least favorite parts of songs that you like?

Right now, I can only think of the end of Know Your Enemy by RATM, when he goes "All of which are American dreams" over and over again. I don't hate what he's saying or anything, but for some reason it makes me want to punch Zack de la Rocha in the face.

The middle section of "Master of Puppets." It's like, "Sweet thrash riffs! Now, lets get sensitive, lol."

Lots of Ted Nugent solos.

The chorus of "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith.

The really long, boring intro to "Orion."

And yeah, the middle of "Whole Lotta Love."

Yeah man, its called "feeling lol". To make good music you're only allowed to play one note every 30 seconds, everyone knows that.

On topic, I don't like the chorus to 'In your Face' by Children of Bodom. Rest of the song is great though.

I think it's the other way around. The song's nothing special until the middle section, and then it begins to kick ass.

Well I mean I love Jimi Hendrix, but it was annoying. Besides that it's a high pitch note too. lol.

Oh and Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin when Robert is making that weird high pitch orgasm like scream thing. It annoys the hell out of me. lol

1. Don't call me a kid, I'm older than you.

2. I was taking the piss. People think 'feeling' is playing one bend every 20 seconds and making a stupid face... and for some reason this is deemed better than showing technicality and skill. For this reason, shred > blues IMO.

You disagree? I don't care.

To me, technicality and emotion have no connection. You can play blues and have no emotion, similarly you can shred with tons.

EG I love John Petrucci, and you can still feel him through his epic sweep picks.

How about both are equally good if the person loves what they are playing...I mean it is music after all which is a form of entertainment.

EDIT: Got another song since we are losing site of the topic at hand.

I hate parts of Welcome Home(Sanitarium) by Metallica where James doesn't hold some of the notes in the middle/end of the song. I think as far as vocal arrangement Bullet For My Valentine did a better job at it.

Metallica > Bullet For My Valentine though

But would you disregard a shredder on the basis of you think he has no emotion? Like... Herman Li, for example?

That's what I'm saying. People for some reason think that what they call no 'emotion' means the music its automatically bad.

Mustaine's vocals in Symphony of Destruction sound stupid. "You try to take his puh-uh-ulse!"

And in Kill 'Em All the guitars are badly synced for the most part.

the nonsense at the end of "The Philosopher" by Death

just about any song that ends in random talking or a repetitive phrase that fades out for more than 20 seconds
"We are not concerned with motive, with higher ethics. We are concerned only with cutting down crime-."
