Ok on my acoustic guitar the tuning Key for my D string won't allow me to turn it any more to tune the string to D. What should I do.

I seriously doubt this is the answer. If it was broke the key wouldn't even turn the string. I can almost get it to a D but I just don't want to break my tuning keys cranking them.

Does it physically prevent you from turning it any farther, or is it just that you're afraid you'll break the string?

either loosen it... or tune down, b/c it sounds like you're tuning your string too high.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

this same thing happened to my old guitar but it was a classical so idk if its the same as yours basically i stripped the inside thread of the tuning key and i could keep turning it but the string didnt tighten to fix it you have to replace the tuners
