What are good sources for metal music. I mean, something that lists about new releases, new artists, metal news etc.

Also, something that covers metal music over the years, famous/active bands by genre etc.

I find roadrunner records website quite helpful. Can anyone suggest me other good sources/magazines etc.

I'm based in Melbourne, Australia.

The internet.

I hardly ever read metal magazines, a lot of the time I just sit there cringing whilst reading them.

Indeed.

And research!

Why do all you new metal fans need an all exclusive portal into the lifestyle? Half the fun of being a metalhead is the research.... finding new bands and ordering their albums... going to shows and meeting cool dudes... fukk.

I have to admit, after finding Agalloch and searching for Anderson's side project band Sculptured, I went down to my record shop and ordered Embodiment earlier this year.

What a treat that has been. So glad I found out about them.

Also, finding amazing underground bands is far more satisfying than reading a metal magazine with a Children of Bodom interview asking Alexi Laiho for the five-billion-and-thirty-sixth time who his major influences are.

SO if Janne and Alexi did a gay porn, would I be the only one willing to buy it?

That's a dumb question, you know everyone in here would buy it too. I know I would!
