Hey everyone,
A guitarist friend of mine told me he uses lime juice as a string cleaner. I haven't tried it myself but I would like to hear what UG has to say about it. Also is there anything else I can use as string cleaner?
Thanks!

It's acidic and sticky. I don't really see it working. A very very very slightly wet rag does the trick for me.

Don't judge me.

fast fret, string conditioner, i guess taking them off and boiling them, steel wool (if you can stand the mess)

no on the juice.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

if you steel wool, be sure to cover your pickups. the magnets are irritating.

Right you see that's what I was thinking. Honestly I have much better uses for lime juice anyway, UG Cocktail thread FTW! I think I'll try the alcohol that sounds like it would be the easiest and fastest DIY way to do it. Thanks everybody!

P.S. Nice to see you again Jenny!

Yeah I have a maple fretboard but I'll still cover it up. Thanks for the advice!
