Which band and or artist do you think is the most important to come out of your state? (state, province, etc.)
Being that I am from New Jersey I would say that Bruce Springsteen represents my state with pride.

Go.

Arctic Monkeys or Def Leppard

Have you worked it out yet?????

Hahah I can't even think of anything witty sadly at the moment. But about that Jersey tattoo, that man is now my hero

And to the MCR comment: No. If anything Bon Jovi and Frank Sinatra

idk, are there any big famous bands that came out of Nebraska?

Edit: I just remembered, 311 came out of Omaha...not sure about anyone else

Edit2: Mannheim Steamroller is from Omaha. As a matter of fact, my former teacher played bass/guitar for them for parts of the year.

Nuno Bettencourt is portuguese, so I guess he kinda represents Portugal in the international music scene.

(Nelly Furtado is half portuguese, but nevermind.)

As far as my music taste goes, Metallica and Slayer are probably the most important bands to come out of California. I hate both bands passionately, but without them the music I listen to wouldn't exist.

Alestorm are freaking awesome.

From Hampshire? I don't think any music has come from here. Ever.

From the great state of Texas . . . well there are tons, really.

I would probably have to go with Stevie Ray Vaughn, but would second that with Johnny "Guitar" Watson.

Haha, I knew I was going to forget quite a few.

There are so many.

I would say that even the Toadies do a good job of representing Texas, too.

And Cas.

and Kevin Smith.

And, as for Georgia, the first bands I always think of are Mastodon and Baroness, but I don't know how "representative" they are to my state.

I mean, truth be told, it's probably a rap artist or a country singer that is the most well known, etc.

Wrong, Bill Bryson is the true hero of De Moines.

I think Bill Bailey is the Somerset representative.
