Im looking to learn Hedleys "For the nights I cant remember" and I cant seem to do a barre chord perfect just yet but I am practicing, so I wanted to know if there was an alternative for the time being.

I find it OK to switch to from chords like Dmaj/min, Amaj/min. It still takes quite a bit of practice though!

I use my thumb on the low E string for some barre chords (but shh I don't think it's good practice..)

^ ya that also, i find the barre chord 10000x easier, my index finger just dont bend right, i gotta like dig my thumb into the back to barre 2 strings, and usually end up muting e as it bends down off the board
